-I once lent $100 dollars to a recovering Heroin addict so he could “buy food.” I didn’t trust him, but he was one of my soldiers, and he needed food. I lent him the money, knowing I was giving him the rope to hang himself with. I waited outside his room all day to see him when he got back from where ever he was. He came walking into the barracks with a bunch of Walmart bags loaded with food, showed me the receipt when he set the bags down. He paid me back the next week. There is a bit of trustworthiness in everyone, you just have to find it.

-It was a good day.

-I’d have to think about that for a long time. Something with that potential cannot be squandered.
